I would *love* to see TDK knock off TITANIC, but I don’t think that’s happening. Shame too, since I believe records are meant to be broken. Ain’t no shame in a silver medal.

The thing that’s bugging me though (I actually blogged about this point last week), is how every box office report is suddenly adding the disclaimer of “When inflation is taken into account…” to point out that TITANIC and STAR WARS are actually still on top in terms of butts in the seats.

Since when did that statistic suddenly matter?

I never really think of Star Wars (and E.T. for that matter) as deserving of being place so highly because a lot of their $ was from re-releases.

So hypothetically, TDK could come out again next Summer and take the award. Dumb.

At ten bucks a pop, only 12 million people need to see it before it leaves theatre. Seems pretty damn possible.

    SINK THE TITANIC!
