James Mangold does sci/fi

Posted by on 18. 03. 2008in Film News

James Mangold is a very versatile director, and one of my personal favorites. He’s done so many varied films, all two years apart, ranging from Cop Land to Kate & Leopold, from Walk the Line to last year’s 3:10 to Yuma.

Word has it that James Mangold is scheduled to direct a sci/fi film called Cyclops, which is based on the graphic novel of the same name. While Mangnold has dabbled with sci/fi briefly in Kate and Leopold, this will be his first true sci/fi film.

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to what James Mangold has to offer us. His films are sometimes hit and miss, but he’s turned in some great films in the last few years.

Mangold has never failed to impress me, I did not see Kate and Leopold though. Walk the Line and Girl, Interrupted are two all-time favs, and Yuma was good.

I too am looking forward to what he has to offer, really excited for that Cyclops film. Even if I know almost nothing about it!
