As the first of many posts here, I thought it fitting to start it off with my current predictions for the 2008 Academy Awards. Some of these picks are ones that I want to win, but probably won’t, but I didn’t feel like thinking like the Academy this year. As I see more films from 2007 I would like to put up a personal favorites list at some point.

Out of all the nominees this year I still need to see Michael Clayton, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, In the Valley of Elah, The Savages, Persepolis, Surf’s Up, The Diving Bell and Butterfly, and Across the Universe.

Thankfully, several of those films are, or will be, available on DVD soon.
